  • The possession of money has manipulated our lives for centuries as the sign of well-being and progress, a way to demonstrate power and the value of a human being.

Sadly, we have succumbed to the idea that having money equates to having happiness. However, the happiest people I have come across in this life are often of the lowest social class, and the people who have more material wealth tend to obsess and always seek more. Their life loses meaning and their moral disappears in the never-ending consumerism, a vicious cycle where they are blocking themselves from freedom.

Tlacotli is a representation of the mental and verbal slavery caused by this greed for money. The people who think that is the source of happiness have allowed their minds to decay, instead of embracing their feelings, the sensation of love, and all the things that really have value in this life.
